Joseph said unto Mary - Christmas play
The bible story comes to life in the light of the candles, renovating the old Bethlehem-playing tradition.
As to the title of the show, besides the light-bringing Jesus and the benignant Mary, the modest carpenter, Joseph also has a leading role: it is rumored that all the puppets – including the beautifully carved puppet-chest– are his work.
What’s more, he is the one who tells the story!
He has the right to do so because at that time he was the one who used to heat the bath for the little Jesus.
The puppets and the puppet-chest were made by Gábor Balla.
Joinery by Miklósné Sári, Péter Havas
The costumes of the puppets and actors were designed by Dóra Fekete.
The one working hard in the tailor’s workshop was Kriszta Emőd.
The story of Villő Kaszás was adapted to puppet stage by László Rumi.
